Yesterday, we witness a near accident. A silly fella came in to the Community hall and started to remove the barbell weights from one side causing the other side to be unbalanced and one of the weigts fell off denting the floor. Then this idiot proceeded to put on a total of 40kh of weights on the barbell. He promtly began to start he pumped up and he started to bow under pressure of the weights and by the time I shouted for Eugene and Ah How to save him, he was already crushed by the barbell. Thank God nothing happened. In view of what has happened, I will be putting up this notice near the equipment. It's so sad.......
I had the most unpleasant commitee meeting as far as i can recollect, seriosuly i dont and i wont blame anybody in that meeting to get angry or even furious with the committee, as everyone was entitled to one's opinion and the right to voice one's stand.
The only thing that i depise the most, is when somebody was trying to turn the common issue into personal attack, with i think is most unbecoming and totally unacceptable.
Unfortunately, on that particular meeting last night, i was singled out and bombarded with some unpleasant comments at me, simply because i embrace the different faith unlike the majority. I could have stood my ground, i could have retaliated but i knew it would be a total waste of time for me to do it.
At that point, i was just thinking, why cant the dissented party just accept the committee's decision that their project cannot be put through, simply because it was infringing some local housing rules, that's it and it was the committee's decision to overrule them and not because one stupid or smart alec of differenct faith trying to be funny.
I felt disturbed and deeply saddened by one particular comment that indicated that i was the trouble maker, or the hindrance to their project as some miscommunication earlier that giving them the signal it was ok to go for it.
I am seriously thinking if it worthwhile to continue to be part of the committee in contrubuting in whatever way i could for the betterment of the place we call home?
I believe the most lethal weapon that can really kill a person is the words uttered, and i dont wish to be the victim of such device.

The Ice Melts
Lst night I had a good sleep after a few nights of late nights and bugging the Taman Lone Pine Security guards. Our gate crasher, Mr. N finally came and had a talk with us. He owns a unit at our Taman and he rents 2 units of shoplots. Theoratically he should have 5 access cards to enter and park at 5 parking lots. It since, our "devil"oper has cheated him out of 2 parking lots. Sad to say, that is his problem. Anyway, to cut a long story short, a compromise was reached, the Management Commitee representatives Mr. William and yours truly, agreed that he should write in to request for a longer time to drop off his materials instead of the standard 20 mintes.
Can you imagine, the residents and committee were clashing with Mr. N for the past 6 years over this when it could have been resolved by a single meeting. AHEM, of course this is subject to both parties holding up to their end of the bargain.
Now, our focus is to get the security and other service providers to come into line. Watch out for my next blog where I aim to fill you in on all the horror stories of security guards, their supervisor and the guys managing the company.

Oh What A Night!
What do I want to do after a hard days work? Play and sweat, send and pick up kids from tuition. Catch up on my reading and watch some movie.
11.35pm my hand phone rang, it was an unfamiliar number, I answered anyway, I always do. The guy in the line starts speaking mandarin and I am 20% conversant, I try talking in Hokkien, no luck, English, worse still. Finally Bahasa Malaysia works.
It was the new security guard, he explained that a resident who had a car sticker but no access card wants to come in. Effective 6th July 2009, no vehicle without access cards are to be allowed in except for special circumstances where the driver’s driving license must be retained and recorded by the security on duty. I told the guard, “No Entry” allowed. Suddenly the phone was handed over to the angry person who wanted to drive in without access card. I told him to see the management office in the morning. I told the security guard to call the police for assistance.
Oh Well! My movie time has to end. I started to walk to the guard house.
Lo and behold, 6 RELA officers, 3 Police Officers were already there and smack in the middle was our Chairman. The cause of all this commotion was none other than a man who was full of alcohol smell and he was talking in a loud voice, angrily asked to be let in. His demands to our Chairman became almost a shouting voice and our Chairman told him that if he continues to shout, we cannot continue to talk. He calmed down for a while but very quickly became angry again. He argued, I have Car Sticker, why can’t you let me in?
The Car Sticker is “Baloney”, you can pay your maintenance fee for the firs three months of the year and get free parking for the res of the year. The new access card ensures only the right people can enter and the maintenance is paid by resident on time. One month’s notice ha already been given to all resident, we even extended the dead line a week to cater for lat minute payers and lame excuses. 6th of July 2009 was D-Day. The buck stops there.
The poor man did not get his way; he had to park his car outside. Our Chairman offered to help to walk him home sensing that he was drunk and tipsy. He declined. I was pondering hard. Do we have to make a Police report and on what charge can we charge him with? Maybe the Police can book him for drunken driving under the influence of alcohol or disturbing the peace or challenging the authority.
In the end, we decided to let him go off. By the way I started to recognize him from where he was working; He is working for an auto accessory shop in Farlim. I used that shop once, bad recommendation – poor workmanship.
Anyway, I look forward positively toward the future, 2 weeks tops and I am confident that almost everyone will toe the line. We will have hecklers who will forever try to gate crash and enter without access cards and also liars who will try every trick in the book of lies and also name droppers, (I am guest of Lone pine Developer boss etc.)
By the way, my motorcycle was parked beside the fence near the guar house when I saw the sign put up – “No Parking for Motorcycle Here” Our Chairman told me, I can move my bike later, I said no, I am no exception and I parked my bike in a neighbor /friend’s lot for the time being. I refuse to take advantage, so that my conscience shall be clear and I shall walk tall and sleep in peace.
Finally went to sleep at 1.5am Wow What a Night and now Good Morning.
